September 3, 2008 Lou Nettlehorst – “Designing your Photographs”. Want to make more interesting photographs? Learn about designing or making images, not just taking them. This class will enhance your awareness of subjects, teach you about seeing differently and help you compose photographs using the building blocks of visual design. September 17, 2008 “The Nature Photographers Quest for Impact” by Pat Wadecki. Through her program, Pat shares many of the elements that go into her award winning images. She will cover not only how subject matter, composition, choice of lenses and filters, and chasing the light contribute to bagging that trophy shot but also how a photographer's personal perspective of an often photographed area can turn that shot into one full of impact. October 15, 2008 “NATURE”S HOTSPOTS Through The Seasons” by Pat Wadecki. Being in the right place and the right time is a challenge for the nature photographer. Pat will lead us on a journey to her favorite shooting hotspots around the country. November 5, 2008 Mark Southard – “Beginning Photoshop Elements”. Now that you've installed Photoshop Elements, what do you do with it? Mark will explain how to get started using Photoshop Elements. November 19, 2008 Hank Erdman – Hank will be critiquing images from our workshops or other images you’d like reviewed. December 3, 2008 Competition: Open to all paid members; please arrive early so that your entries can be registered. Competition begins at 7:15. December 17, 2008 Critique Workshop: We will discuss photos from the December competition with an eye toward improving them or learning why they work. Holiday Celebration too! (Note: Holiday Party on Saturday, January 17th). January 7, 2009 ACC Digital Competition --our first digital competition . Open to all members; please arrive early so that your pre-entries can be confirmed. Competition begins at 7:15. Please see the December Newsletter for instructions on pre-entering. Also, contact Mike Berner for further details. January 21, 2009 Bo Yuan from Imaging Luminary will be coming to demonstrate HDR and Tone-Mapping.
